Melvin Beederman Book Tour |
|
Well, I did it...I went a whole month without blogging. It was an interesting experiment. I know...a lot of you were thinking I was just procrastinating. Me?
Earlier this month my publisher sent me and the illustrator of the Melvin Beederman books, Rhode Montijo, on a book tour. This is the second one we've been on. Last year we spent three days in Napa, CA. This time we did a weeks worth of school and library presentations in Chicago, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Grand Rapids and then flew to the International Readers Association conference in Toronto. It was great to finally meet my editor Reka Simonsen. I did a little power point presentation at the conference and later went to lunch with Reka and Rhode. That night we went to dinner with more Holt people and about ten invited guests. It was my first experience with being wined and dined, and let me tell you, I think I could get used to it. Fun times.
One of the highlights of the trip was sampling the famous Chicago pizza (we asked the locals for the best place to go) and going to the even-more-famous Super Dawg where they make the best hot dog in the US of A. Until next time...Greg

“What a great presentation! Many visuals brought the "talk" to life. The students loved the spooky laughter contest and to be able to play a part from the book. Greg Trine really relates to kids!” Pam Zirion 2nd Grade Teacher, Hawthorne Elementary School
