Red Skelton's Pledge of Allegiance

Lots of things on my mind these days.  I just finished reading The Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt, which I liked a lot and had planned to blog about it...but not yet.  I'm currently reading Elijah of Buxton by Christophere Paul Curtis, which is a fine book, but not a good as The Wednesday Wars.  I had planned on blogging about this one too...but not yet.  Both of these are the latest Newbery Honor books, by the way, which makes them pretty darn groovy.

But these posts will have to wait, because I came across a video by Red Skelton where he has a few things to say about The Pledge of Allegiance.  I've always been a patriot and a faith person and his words hit home for me.  See if they do for you as well.  Check out the Inspirational Video of the Week !  Greg

Greg Trine is a truly inspirational writer and speaker. When he visited my class, he captivated my students with stories of his challenges and successes as a writer, inspiring them with lessons of perseverance and encouragement. The activities he worked on with them showed how they could embody traits of character just as noble and just as funny as Melvin Beederman's. He was very entertaining, and the evil laugh contest was a hoot!
